Solution: the OptProcess technology is flexible and has predictive models to provide a safe and accurate control of the chip silo, digester level, white liquor temperature, and decrease the Kappa factor variation, among other process variables. Thus, it ensures consistent and uniform cooking for all chips and a uniform residence time throughout the cooking unit.
Result: A reduction of 50 to 80% in the Kappa variation is expected, thus increasing the pulp production within the specifications and reducing costs of the bleaching step.
